Working With Talented Professionals

Saving money for a down payment on a home is no easy feat, which is why I started looking into various ways to make sure that I had things sorted out like I should. I began working with a real estate agent to chat about what to do and how to start saving, and they explained how much I needed if I wanted to avoid private mortgage insurance, and when the market typically trended upwards. It was really neat for me to see everything I could do with the advice, and saving became easier after I had a clear goal. Find out more about real estate by reading this blog.

Two, Four, Six, Eight, Ten, Twelve: Understanding Condo Structure

Cathy Frazier

Condos for sale are often listed with their own individual features. However, condos are never single-unit abodes. There is always one or more condo units attached. When there is only one other unit attached, the whole structure is called a "twindominum," because the condominiums are "twins" of each other. However, there are multiple other condo designs, and each serves its own purpose.

Four Condos

When there are four condos to a structure, there are always two condos upstairs and two condos downstairs. They are of very good size, and can easily house four small families in comfort (i.e., less than three children and two adults). Four condos built together in this way allows the property owners to sell the same property four times, which is three times more than if the owners had built a single home on the property and sold it as a single-family home/unit.

Six Condos

Six condos takes the four condo plan and adds two more condos (one upper, one lower) to one end of the building. When the owner has a little extra space, he/she can maximize both space and profits by placing a six-condo structure on that property. All six condos are identical in the floor plan, with minor differentiation in the orientation of rooms and fixtures.

Eight Condos

In this floor plan, there are four condos on one side, four condos on the other side. All condos are built back to back in the same building, like apartment complexes, but with better soundproofing and better walls. There are four upper and four lower condos, and with the way that these are generally structured, the owner can make use of space that is shorter in one direction than in the other. In fact, eight-condo buildings are best suited for narrow but long or deep land plots.

Ten and Twelve Condos

Ten and twelve condo structures are arranged in such a way that some of the condos may be separate and extend out over a walkway or ravine. A skywalk may connect the two buildings. Some people enjoy this condo design because it gives everyone a sort of communal patio space where they can hang out and visit. It also means that some smaller or larger condos are available for sale because the landowner is not trying to squeeze all of the condos together on the same piece of property and can make some design choices other condo properties cannot.
