Working With Talented Professionals

Saving money for a down payment on a home is no easy feat, which is why I started looking into various ways to make sure that I had things sorted out like I should. I began working with a real estate agent to chat about what to do and how to start saving, and they explained how much I needed if I wanted to avoid private mortgage insurance, and when the market typically trended upwards. It was really neat for me to see everything I could do with the advice, and saving became easier after I had a clear goal. Find out more about real estate by reading this blog.

Do Real Estate Agents Mow Lawns? And Other Strange Questions Answered

Cathy Frazier

When you think of real estate agent services, you think open houses, selling, and buying property. That is the bulk of what real estate agents do. Yet, you might have heard some interesting rumors about lesser-known services provided by real estate agents. The following questions are just some of the things that other property owners have been asking about, and what the answers to those questions are.

Do Real Estate Agents Mow Lawns?

Well, yes, and no are the answers. You see, only agencies that offer property management services for people not currently dwelling in their homes and who are trying to sell their homes from a distance will get this kind of treatment. Agencies that provide both property management and property selling services will mow lawns.

So, if you have to pick up and move to another city very quickly, and you do not have time to sell your house the usual way, an agency will list and sell the home for you in your absence and provide lawn care to keep up appearances until the home sells.

Do Real Estate Agents Provide Interior Decorating Services?

This rumor was born out of the fact that many agents and agencies will "stage" a home to make it more visually attractive to buyers. The agents do not do interior decorating per se, but rather they remove some of your belongings, utilize furniture and home décor borrowed from a local business to decorate one or more rooms for an open house event, and then take all of that back after the open house.

Your stuff may end up in the garage or some other storage space while this is happening. Of course, if you choose to purchase those items after the open house because you liked the way everything looked, you are free to do so.

Do Real Estate Agents Act as Real Estate Lawyers?

No, generally real estate agents are agents and real estate lawyers are lawyers. Some agencies hire a real estate lawyer to work for them, but they act as lawyers fully and not as agents.

If, however, you have a problem with a contested title on a home you purchased through an agency, you can have the agency's lawyer take a look at the issue to find out what is wrong. You may also hire your own real estate lawyer to defend your position of assumed ownership of the property in the event that someone else says that the home was not for sale and should not have been sold (a very rare occurrence). For more information, contact a business that offers real estate agent services.
